about

------------------------------------------------------------
“Keyboard Practice, consisting of preludes, allemandes, courantes, sarabandes, gigues, minuets and other galanteries, composed for music lovers, to refresh their spirits…”
(J.S.Bach, 1731)

Bach published his Partitas with the opus number “1”. His Opus 1 appeared in 1731 and gathers together six lengthy “partitas” that he had composed in the years just before their publication. All six were initially published separately by Bach himself, that is, at his own expense and risk.

Germany born, Israeli-based concert pianist Shira Legmann, performs both classical - and new, experimental music. She engages in improvisation, composing, concerts curating and interdisciplinary work. Since 2013 she is co-artistic director and member of Musica Nova Ensemble (Tel Aviv), a unique collective comprising musicians and sound artists.

This is Shira Legmann’s first solo piano album, self-produced and released.
